For this project, I served as a healthcare data analyst for a fictional private equity firm, NorthBridge Health Investment Fund, evaluating three hospital candidates and recommending one for investment.

I cleaned 10,900 patient encounters across three hospitals in PostgreSQL, derived 18 key performance indicators, built a star schema data model in Power BI, and scored each hospital across five weighted investment dimensions using an Excel scorecard.

The recommendation was Greenfield General Hospital, with a weighted score of 7.23 out of 10. GGH leads on clinical quality, operational efficiency, and patient satisfaction. Its only weakness is a 50.58% claim denial rate, leaving $5.65 million uncollected annually, a billing problem, not a clinical one. Fixing it unlocks an estimated $3.2 million in additional revenue.

Tools: PostgreSQL · Power BI · Microsoft Excel · DAX · Power Query
